Fire Science
FireVista™ delivers a state-of-the-art 3D visualization platform that showcases advanced fire simulation models, empowering you to simulate, plan, and make critical real-world decisions with confidence and minimal risk. By leveraging custom data pipelines and cutting-edge GPU rendering, we ensure that data and decision-making are not only fast but accurate. Our data simulations and visualizations are validated by Los Alamos National Labs and backed by over 30 years of lab R&D. We're excited to introduce future tools focused on optimizing fuel inventory and thinning processes. Furthermore, FireVista™ integrates advanced XR technologies, making your data collaborative and immersive!
Fire Managment and Planning
Quickly compare fire simulations to inform burn strategies and enhance emergency preparedness.
Training
Put beyond the 2D Desktop applications we are also building Virtual Reality (VR) applications to view the data and interact in a life-scale version of the data. We can put a burn crew in a VR environment, start a drip torch and see the result. We are also creating interactions in the platforms for understanding training tools - such as a drip torch and being able to go to exploded views to see all the parts, as well as training a user on the assembly and disassembly of tools.
Community Outreach
Make complex fire dynamics digestible and impactful using visual effects layers - we want to help the community understand WHY we need more prescribed fires.
Developed in collaboration with the Energy and Natural Resources Science Group (EES-16), Earth and Environmental Sciences Division at Los Alamos National Labs (LANL), the FireVista™ platform was designed to bring the science of wildfire research into the hands of fire scientists, managers, planners, trainers, and community leaders.
Working under a CRADA with LANL, SciVista, Inc. is working to commercialize LANL the QUIC-Fire application that produces high-fidelity 3D fire modeling data, we create custom readers and visualizers for that data so that users can interact and collaborate together to understand how to plan prescribed fires.
In addition to Fire Modeling, we are also expanding and providing access to FastFuels, which will provide extensive fuel management systems for inventory and forest management outside of prescribed fire needs. We can visualize terrain and fuels from the lower 48 states (and expansion into more areas and countries over time).
FireVista™ is purely data driven, there are no artist created terrains or placed fuels. Use true voxel format or flip on visual effects layers to customize realistic training scenarios for each burn, use case, and audience. Even plan thinning procedures with your fuel inventories.
The FireVista™ platform supports QUIC-Fire and FastFuels, with ongoing work to integrate additional fire, wind, and fuel models along with geo spatial layers, bringing wholistic approach to data driven decision making. We are also actively incorporating GIS (Cesium) services as well as models like WFDS, Wind Ninja, Behave Plus, and more!
