With the huge success of ‘Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’ and ‘Call of Duty: Black Ops’, Activision -- publishers of the franchise –- is believed to formally announce the newest addition to the franchise.
In a recent interview to a sports radio, ‘Modern Warfare’ voice actor Craig Fairbrass said, “I did Call of Duty: Modern Warfare as Gaz and then I did Ghost in Modern Warfare 2, which has become one of the more iconic figures in the history of computer games, which is great.”
Fairbrass added, “And I’ve just been out in LA doing something that’s going to be announced in May.”
“I’ve just been out there doing some bits and pieces, and one is to do with… I can’t say too much.”
Return of ghost is rumored
With Fairbrass being a part of the new series, gaming enthusiasts predict a return of the ‘Modern Warfare 2’ character Ghost as the lead.
According to reports, the third installment in the ‘Modern Warfare’ series is being jointly developed by Infinity Ward (creator of the ‘Call of Duty’ series) with newly established studio 'Sledgehammer Games' and first person shooter (FPS) specialist Raven Software (creator of ‘Qauke’, ‘Wolfenstein’ series and Singularity).
Reports also suggests that the unveiling of the most eagerly awaited game by Activision at the time of its declaration of its first quarter 2011 financial results, might benefit the company more.
An incredible experience
"You do like five, six, seven sessions and they record it in this great big studio in Los Angeles, which is absolutely mental," said Fairbrass.
"I was out there from January to the end of February [and] Activision took me to their hub, I was a guest for the day, and they took me all around and they showed me the game - you know, these games are like $200 million to produce.”
He added, "It's incredible. This place was like the size of 10 factories, there was all these people working."
