Customized themes, email prompts for Gmail users

On its’ official blog, Google has revealed the aim of the feature was to replace the overall look of the mailing platform, and simultaneously making it more personal. Earlier, the users only had the option of choosing from the existing themes and colors.

Google blog post states that the new feature will allow the user to use images both from their Picasa account as well as images stored in their hard drive.

“Themes in Gmail are great — there are tons to choose from and they give your inbox a personalized look,” said the official blog post.

“But we’ve heard from many of you who thought it would be even better if you could give Gmail an even more personalized look and create themes completely on your own.”

Users can create their own themes by going to the themes tab from settings and clicking the “Create your own theme” located at the bottom.

Email address errors
Also, Gmail have launched two other features to help the user avoid any addressing errors. The feature “Don’t Forget Bob”, based on the users frequently e-mailed group, auto-suggests the name of the person left out when group e-mailing.

Another feature “Got the Wrong Bob” shows an alert if the user is about to send an email to the wrong person.

Earlier, the internet giant had also revealed its plan to bring more relevant advertisement to the Gmail inbox.
