Invitations sent for holding the conference
As per the sources, Amazon will most probably hold the conference on Wednesday in New York. Though the company is tight lipped about the disclosure of the details however; the online retailer is expected to make an announcement for a much-rumored tablet device.
Amazon seems to be getting ready to compete with rival Apple's popular iPad. The online retailer which has been selling its Kindle e-reader for past many years is now working on a tablet device.
Amazon Kindle to be launched with back-lit and colored touch screen
Kindle e-reader has been very popular among the online users. This feature basically use screens with "electronic ink" technology which enhances its reading efficiency, especially in bright light. As tablets such as the iPad provide facilities other than reading texts due to the availability of backlit screens in them, Amazon is also planning to give these conveniences to its users. The inclusion of new features will help the users in surfing the Web as well as watching movies. The conference will be held on Stage37 in an event space in the Hell's Kitchen neighborhood.
The device is expected to be launched before October however; some reports also stated that the release date could be in late November. As per the sources, the device will be launched in the market as “Amazon Kindle” sporting back-lit, color touch screen features. The price for the product will be around $250.
Commenting on the company’s progress in relation to the launch of the new device, analysts said that the iPad’s dominance in this holiday season can only be challenged by Amazon.
