iPhone 5 coming on October 4?
A technology website named ‘AllThingsD’ said that sources “close to the situation” has disclosed that Apple might launch iPhone 5 on this date.
“While Apple could certainly change its plans anytime, sources said that the Oct. 4 date has been selected by the company to showcase the iPhone 5,” stated John Paczkowski of AllThingsD.
“Sources added that the plan is now to make the new device available for purchase within a few weeks after the announcement,” he added.
Also, Nobel laureate and Apple Board Member Al Gore has revealed that the Apple’s new “iPhone coming out next month”.
Gore announced this at the Discovery Invest Leadership Summit in Johannesburg, South Africa.
As Gore has used the term “iphones,” speculations are rife that the technology giant might introduce two or more iphones, may be iPhone 5, and updated version of iPhone 4.
Apart from the launch, the event is important for the newly appointed CEO of Apple Tim Cook who has taken the place of Steve Jobs.
Paczkowski said that it will be the first major product introduction for Cook and he is expected to be the main presenter there.
Paczkowski said, “So, like his predecessor and as Jobs’s right-hand man and chosen successor, Cook is expected to be the main presenter at all big Apple media events going forward.”
He added that after a smooth leadership transition in Apple the newly appointed CEO will be under pressure to ensure that the iPhone 5 launch event is a success.
