Samsung announces the launch of Galaxy S II in U.S.
This new Samsung Galaxy S II smartphone will not be accessible on the 4G LTE networks but it will be available on other three services i.e. AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint. This new Smartphone will use HSPA+ on AT&T and T-Mobile and WiMAX on Sprint. However, the other features of Samsung Galaxy S II Smartphone will remain same on all the networks.
Features of Samsung Galaxy S II
All models of Samsung Galaxy S II Smartphone will have a dual core processor of 1.2GHz with 1GB RAM. Galaxy S II will have a 4.3-inch 800x480 resolution screen. This new Smartphone will also have a Samsung TouchWiz interface and an Android 2.3 Gingerbread skin.
The storage capacity of this phone is 16GB which is expandable upto 32GB with a micro SD card. Samsung Galaxy S II has two cameras, one each in front and the rear of the phone. The front camera is of 8-megapixels and is capable of recording 1080p video. The rear camera is also good and is of 2 megapixel.
Prices of Galaxy S II
The Sprint version of this Smartphone which is scheduled to launch on September 16, costs about $199.99 and it is named ‘Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch’. The AT&T version of this Smartphone will be a plain old ‘Galaxy S II’ and it is scheduled to launch on September 18, however its prices are not yet revealed. T-Mobile has neither announced the release date nor the price of its version of the Smartphone.
Samsung has previously announced that it will be coming up with LTE versions of Samsung Galaxy S II and the Galaxy Tab 8.9, but it seems that these new devices are not what they have announced. These new Smart phones are among the thinnest Smart phones as AT&T version of Samsung Galaxy S II is the thinnest model with 8.89 millimeters where as the spirit version is 9.65 millimeters thick.
