Apple places order for new MacBook Airs
New version of the MacBook Air could be launched soon
Kuo said that while 55 percent of the new Macbook Airs will be 11.6 inch versions, the others will be 13.3 inch versions.
Kuo has been saying that Apple will be launching the new version of its MacBook Air by June or July.
He has also predicted that the new devices could be equipped with Sandy Bridge processors and the Thunderbolt technology for high speed transfers.
The prediction was supported by a report in the Taiwanese newspaper DigiTimes.
Many analysts are speculating that after the launch of iCloud and a download only Mac OS, X Lion, Apple might turn towards the MacBook Air as its primary device.
Tim Bajaran speculated after the keynote speech at the Computex that Intel could be following its Sandy Bridge processor with a high speed, low voltage processor which is code named as 'Ivy Bridge'.
Ultra thin laptops could become the next much in-demand devices, say analysts.
MacBook Air hugely successful
Even as the technology in the present MacBook Airs is much outdated when compared to the MacBook Pro, the right pricing had made it the most successful Mac product launch.
Kuo told Appleinsider that the company has shipped around 1.1 million MacBook Air laptops in the last quarter of 2010, which includes both 13 and 15 inch versions.
So for those who have been waiting to buy the new version of the MacBook Air, the latest version could be available in the markets soon.
