When Motorola introduced Xoom, the company had announced making a free upgrade of the 4G LTE radio available to the Xoom users.

But nobody must have thought that the upgrade, which allows Xoom to connect to the Verizon LTE network, was not an easily available upgrade, and had some complexities attached to it.

Of late, the reports claimed that the upgrade takes more than 6 days to install.

“Essentially, here's how the upgrade process is going to work: approximately 90 days after the Xoom ships, Motorola will tell all Xoom owners that the 4G LTE upgrade is ready,” said a spokesperson.

The Ookla Net Metrics released the results for nearly 57,000 tests initiated by iPhone users in the United States. These showed that AT&T users were getting a slightly better speed as compared to those with Verizon.

The free network speed test offered at speedtest.net has become so prevalent that the federal government has acknowledged it as a reliable tool for testing speed on various networks.

It was iPhone versus iPhone
When Ookla Net Metrics published the data in which iPhone was pitted against iPhone, it grabbed the attention of people. But it has been known by networking experts that HSPA is faster than the EV-DO rev.

But Doug Suttles, Ookla co-founder, released a more comprehensive data later and the world come to know where to look for the fastest iPhone in the world.

The wait is finally over. Apple's much awaited iPhone 4 on Verizon Wireless network is up for sale, starting Thursday.

There have been hullabaloos over the iPhone 4 supposedly faulty antenna, but it does not seem to have significant impact on its prospective sales.

The iPhone 4 fans are ready to lay their hands on the device as soon as it becomes available for sale at Apple and Verizon Wireless stores and some selected Walmart and Best Buy locations.
