According to latest reports, the United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is considering a proposal to use social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter, to alert its citizens of terror threats.

The proposal also seeks to do away with the current color-coded system for ‘Severe’, ‘High’, ‘Elevated’, ‘Guarded’ and ‘Low’ risks of terror warnings, and replace it with a two-level system.

Popular social networking site Facebook is all set to attract the gay community now, as it has recently launched two new options in the relationship status indicator settings.

The two new statuses that the people in the U.S. can choose from are, ‘in a domestic partnership’ and ‘in a civil union’, and the move is expected to go well with the LGBT society.

Currently, the options available are ‘In a relationship’, ‘Engaged’, ‘Married’, ‘It’s complicated’, ‘In an open relationship’, ‘Widowed’, ‘Separated’ and ‘Divorced’ and these new options would be added from today itself.

To get respite from the biting cold, eco-friendly passive homes are being constructed by the people living in some extremely cold areas, in the U.S.

These state-of-the-art houses do not require a furnace or boiler for heating, but are self-insulated and warmth is created by the body heat of people, living in and visiting the house.

John Eckfeldt from Isabella, Minn., who has got one such passive home built for himself said, “It's like living in a glass thermos. The inside temperature is so even that if snow is falling, I am surprised to realize it must be cold outside.”
