In a new study at Stanford University, scientists have cracked the way to forecast sunspots as early as two days of their appearance. The research will hereby help humans predict solar flares, say experts.

Sunspots or maculae are those cooler, darker spots occurring sporadically on the sun's photosphere. Sunspots are associated with a strong magnetic activity and have on and off effect on terrestrials.
