A research, which was published on Friday, says that crossing arms in the middle of the body helps in reducing the intensity of pain.

The research says that crossing the arms confuses the brain and helps in reducing the pain. In the journal ‘Pain,’ the scientists from University College London (UCL) reported the research.

They said that the reason of its occurrence is the confliction in the information which reaches the brain from two different brain maps. One is from the body and the other is from the external space.

In a significant declaration, the federal government confirmed that the diabetes drug Avandia will not be sold any more by the retail pharmacy stores from the month of November. This step has been taken due to the major heart attack risk associated with the drug.

After the new program becomes effective on Nov.18, only certified doctors will be allowed to prescribe the drug to patients already aware of the risks. For the prescribed medicine, these patients would need to fill their prescriptions by mail order through selected pharmacies.

According to the researchers in China, the access to HIV drugs has increased and the death rate has reduced by almost 60 percent in the last seven years.

In 2003, China introduced the anti retroviral drugs in order to fight the deadly disease and by 2009 the drug reached to more than 60 percent of the people affected with AIDS in the country.

More efforts needed

The stats are quite impressive, but some of the experts say that there are plenty of things that have to be done for certain groups of people. It includes improving access to the treatment and speeding up the diagnosis.
