To enable application users to purchase products from within the apps, Google has in its blog post, announced the launch of an in-app billing facility for Android developers.

“We’re pleased to announce the launch of Android Market In-app Billing to developers and users. As an Android developer, you will now be able to publish apps that use In-app Billing and your users can make purchases from within your apps,” stated the blog post.

This new launch will greatly enhance the sale of applications in the Android market, as prior to this, Android-based app creators could only sell their apps in the app market, and the monetary transaction was also a complex process.

Online retailer Amazon.com is now mulling starting a new music locker service for its customers that would allow people to store, and access music and videos from any digital devices.

“Amazon is still working out key legal issues related to the service and has yet to secure content licenses from at least some major record labels and movie studios. One major music company, Sony Music Entertainment, expressed dismay at Amazon's plans, echoing concerns of others in the industry,” said an insider.

Reports claimed that the company was planning to compete with Apple and Google, by offering the locker or cloud services to its customers.

The service enables the users to create and manage an online music and video collection, just like a computer.

In order to give tough competition to Apple, Google is mulling over to create and launch its own music store, just like iTunes.

A report by CNet claimed that the company is revamping its Google music service, and this may soon be available for public use.
