Nearly 40,000 guests including a Congressional delegation and the Florida Governor Rick Scott witnessed history in the making as space shuttle Discovery headed towards the International Space Station (ISS) on its last mission before retirement.

The last mission
The Discovery is carrying six astronauts to the International Space Station (ISS) and all of them have prior experience in space travel. The commander of the mission is Steven Lindsay who thanked everyone for getting the shuttle ready.

“Discovery now making one last reach for the stars,” said the Mission Control commentator, as the space shuttle blasted off from its launch tower.

This was the 39th launch of Discovery.

The wait is finally over. Apple's much awaited iPhone 4 on Verizon Wireless network is up for sale, starting Thursday.

There have been hullabaloos over the iPhone 4 supposedly faulty antenna, but it does not seem to have significant impact on its prospective sales.

The iPhone 4 fans are ready to lay their hands on the device as soon as it becomes available for sale at Apple and Verizon Wireless stores and some selected Walmart and Best Buy locations.

According to the latest revelation made by The Wall Street Journal, Verizon Wireless set a record by selling more iPhones in first two hours of availability than sold by it on first day of the debut of a device.

Fabulous marketing and publicity helped in profit
The existing customers of the Verizon Wireless were permitted to place the order for the iPhone on Thursday.

The official launch of the iPhone is on Feb 10. Though company set a record on the first day but it declined to give any details about the exact number of phones sold.
