Apple carries on its U.S. retail spread out of the iPad 2 with the sale of this second-generation touchscreen tablet at selected Toys R Us stores, says a report.

According to a report, the availability of the iPad 2 was first announced by Toys R Us on Sunday. It was just one week after a confidential document from the vendor was disclosed; revealing that the sale of the iPad 2 would start by May.

Toys R Us will sell iPad2 along with some important accessories

The gadget is currently accessible only at some specific stores across the United States. A complete list of stores from where it could be purchased will be available on the Toys R Us website.

Android-based Motorola XOOM tablets may boast of having many attractive features, but the fact is that only 100,000 of these have been sold so far.

Analysts have revealed that the tablet has been topping the poor performers list, along with Atrix smartphone, and sales have been very sluggish, despite an excellent promotional campaign by Verizon and AT&T.

Pacific Crest’s analyst, James Faucette said that he predicted no major earning estimates for the tablet, as his research has shown that the sales of the Motorola Xoom tablet have been really substandard.

To enable application users to purchase products from within the apps, Google has in its blog post, announced the launch of an in-app billing facility for Android developers.

“We’re pleased to announce the launch of Android Market In-app Billing to developers and users. As an Android developer, you will now be able to publish apps that use In-app Billing and your users can make purchases from within your apps,” stated the blog post.

This new launch will greatly enhance the sale of applications in the Android market, as prior to this, Android-based app creators could only sell their apps in the app market, and the monetary transaction was also a complex process.
