Endeavour’s crew members have returned to Florida to try a lift off of the space shuttle from the International Space Centre one more time.

The crew members have returned to Kennedy Space Centre just a day before when the final countdown clock starts to tick again. The launch of Endeavour is scheduled for Monday morning.

The previous lift off which was scheduled on April 29, was cancelled because of an electrical problem. The problems have been solved and the faulty switch box is replaced and new wiring has been installed.

Endeavour’s commander Mark Kelly said that the launch director has assured that the Endeavour is “in great condition” for its final mission.

Endeavour’s final launch is again pushed back because of the hydraulic system problem.

The final launch of the space shuttle is now delayed to May 16 at the earliest. This is a third delay in Endeavour’s launch since the shuttle faced problem on April 29.

In a press release, NASA has said that the shuttle launch will not take place before May 16. The shuttle launch was canceled three times i.e. on April 29, May 2, and on May 8.

Repair work in progress
NASA also said that they will organize a press conference on Monday to update on the status of the repair work on hydraulic system.

According to NASA, the final flight of the Endeavour is delayed for at-least a week because the technicians will have to replace the switch box in the engine compartment.

After the cancellation of lift-off, commander of the six astronauts, Mark Kelly headed back to Houston.

The families of the astronauts were hoping for the lift off on Monday but, NASA made it clear that they need some more time to fix the faulty heating system of Endeavour, because of which the launch of the space shuttle had to be cancelled.

Giffords spokesman, C.J. Karamargin said, “We all had our fingers crossed looking forward to a quick rescheduling of the launch.”
