Thousands of Vodafone mobile network users were hit hard, after burglars broke-in at a Vodafone exchange center in Basingstoke, in the wee hours on Monday.
The company said, “Several hundred thousand customers had lost voice, text and internet access.”
The people living in West of London, in the M4 corridor area of the network were the most affected.
A press release by Vodafone stated, "We had a break in last night at one of our technical facilities which resulted in damage done to some of our equipment. We are working quickly to restore these and will be back to normal as soon as we can."
However, the burglary does not mean leakage of personal information of the customers, which the company maintained to be intact.
